Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling motion of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A series of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after long service in a difficult surroundings. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators were chosen. These needed to be specifically tailored by Rotork to beat problems around confined spaces and troublesome access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes had been mechanically tailored so that each actuator and gearbox could presumably be operated by hand with out coming into the confined area. เกจวัดแรงดันน้ำมันเครื่อง designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to get rid of the necessity for confined area entry.
Actuators within the IQ vary are watertight, offering ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced twin stacked display with configurable data logger performance, and an absolute place sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
