Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A collection of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after long service in a challenging environment. BAE Systems wished to retain all the benefits of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators had been chosen. These had to be specifically tailored by Rotork to overcome issues round confined areas and troublesome access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes were mechanically adapted in order that each actuator and gearbox could be manually operated with out getting into the confined space. เครื่องมือใช้วัดความดัน designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the need for confined space access.
Actuators throughout the IQ vary are watertight, offering ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced dual stacked show with configurable knowledge logger functionality, and an absolute place sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
