Svanehøj launches management system for cargo offloading

Danish pump producer Svanehøj has launched its newly developed environmentally friendly Flow Control system, which automates the control of electrical cargo pumps on tankers.
The launch of the newly developed software-based management system follows a profitable check in collaboration with the Swedish delivery company Furetank on the P&C tanker Fure Ven. The 18,000 DWT vessel was built in 2019 as considered one of Furetank’s V-Series, a model new era of climate-smart P&C tankers.
Svanehøj’s system makes it quicker, easier, and extra environment friendly to operate electrical cargo pumps. เกจวัดแรงดันsumo ensures an optimum changeover between tanks and pumps in parallel, reducing the time needed for cargo discharge by as much as 20% because the system will mechanically function at the optimal duty point. It allows the operator to take full management of the pumps, simplifying the complete cargo discharge operation without installing any further hardware.
Fure Ven is among the many first vessels at Furetank to have electric cargo pumps put in. The company has recorded a 25% reduction in energy and gas consumption in relation to cargo discharge operations compared to vessels within the fleet which have hydraulic pumps.
